Software and design for osu!, made down to the last tag.

AegleWorks is an independent studio. It builds the editor people use for their userpages, the engine underneath it, the overlays tournaments stream with, and the skins people play on.

Work

Four projects, one standard: what you see in the tool is what ends up on screen.

  • Miliastry

    osu! userpage editor

Write BBCode with a live preview that follows osu!’s own rules, then fix broken tags before you publish. Image maps, tables and templates included.

  • Quasar

    Document engine

The engine behind Miliastry. It parses BBCode into a syntax tree, re-parses only what an edit touched, and never rewrites a character you did not change.

    • TypeScript, zero dependencies
    • 144,000 fuzzed edits, 0 divergences

  • Rempalago 3

    Tournament broadcast overlay

The stream overlay for the Rempalago 3 osu! tournament. Seven scenes read the match live from osu!, and a control panel builds the OBS scenes for whoever runs the broadcast.

  • Kasumi

    osu! skin

A pastel skin built around one character. Version 1.4 redraws the HP bar, mod icons, pause screen and song select, and covers all four game modes.

    • 2,600+ downloads of v1.3

One person, from the first sketch to the release.

AegleWorks is the studio of hxovc, an osu! player and skin designer.

It began as the name on the Kasumi skin and now covers everything hxovc publishes: tools, overlays and skins. The same person designs and builds all of it.

  • Fewer things, made properly.

Every release is meant to be used, not just announced.

  • The details are the product.

Spacing, timing, the way a tag closes. The small decisions are what people actually feel.

  • Your work stays yours.

Tools should protect what you made, not rewrite it.
